And just like that, it's time for the final Data & Drinks event of 2024! 🎄
This edition will focus on Data Mesh, and our seasoned speakers will be Data & Solution Architect Ozan Dogu Tuna and Senior Data Engineer at HEMA Matteo Pocchiari.
This free event includes dinner, drinks and a lot of networking opportunities with data professionals from Amsterdam and beyond.
Abstract
Talk #1 by Ozan Dogu Tuna: Data Mesh: An Engineer’s Guide
The core idea and concepts of Data Mesh, from a data/cloud/ops engineer point of view, may seem too vague and rightfully so. In this talk, I will try to build a bridge between the abstract and concrete, making Data Mesh more understandable and agreeable by engineers.
Talk #2 by Matteo Pocchiari: Empowering Insights: Creating a Cloud-Based Data Mesh at HEMA
In this presentation, I'll dive into our journey of implementing a Data Mesh architecture on Databricks and AWS. By decentralizing data ownership and enabling domain teams to manage their own data products, we've empowered insights and decision-making across the organization. I'll walk you through the transition from on-premises to a fully cloud-based architecture and share key lessons learned along the way.
