Data & Drinks: The GenAI Edition

The Data & Drinks event returns on the 19th of September, featuring two special use cases focusing on GenAI. Co-Founder and CTO at Next Technology Ronny Roeller will deliver a presentation titled: "Enhancing Dashboard UX with Generative AI," and Machine Learning Engineer Martijn Beeks will deliver alongside Senior Project Manager at Open State Foundation Tim Vos-Goedhart a presentation about an LLM chatbot web application that supports the National Government of the Netherlands answer questions about the contents of documents of tenders and procurement data.

This free event includes dinner, drinks and a lot of networking opportunities with data professionals from Amsterdam and beyond.

Abstract of the talks:

• Enhancing Dashboard UX with Generative AI by Ronny Roller: In this talk, attendees will gain practical insights into how Generative AI, powered by LangChain and OpenAI/Azure, can be integrated into dashboard design to transform large, unstructured datasets into intuitive, actionable insights, ultimately improving decision-making and user engagement. Rather than inundating users with a multitude of graphs and data points, we enable them to input specific questions into the dashboard. The AI then generates personalized responses based on the most recent data, ensuring that insights are not only relevant but also aligned with the user's specific inquiries.
• Building Tenderflow: an open source LLM chatbot web application for tender and procurement data, by Open State Foundation and Martijn Beeks: Tenders can become pretty complex with the information that is delivered. Meanwhile, the Dutch government introduced more requirements for parties they work with. With an introduction from Open State Foundation about their work, Martijn Beeks will present about an open source LLM chatbot web application that he developed alongside Data Engineer Bas Hendrikse and Machine Learning Enginer Vincent Roest. The chatbot can answer questions about the contents of tender documents and procurement data. The tool fits within the strategy to promote the accessibility of open data, making it easier for suppliers to find and understand government tenders (The project was done on behalf of the National Government of the Netherlands after their entry won the Open Inkoopdata App Challenge, which was organized in collaboration with Open State Foundation.)

About the speakers:

• Ronny Roeller is cofounder and CTO of NEXT — an AI-powered product discovery platform that lets teams drive their product decisions, workflows, and rituals with customer insights from their Gong, Zoom, Google and other client calls. He studied Computer Science at VU Amsterdam, and has a deep passion for product management and AI, driving his ongoing commitment to innovation in these fields.
• Martijn Beeks is a freelance machine learning engineer, experienced in MLOps and Generative AI. Together with Engineers Vincent Roest and Bas Hendrikse he created Tenderflow, an open-source chat application for open procurement data.
• Tim Vos-Goedhart is senior project manager at Open State Foundation. This independent organization works on a more digital transparent government by opening up public information as open data and making it accessible for re-users. Together with the Dutch national government, they organized the initiative 'Open Inkoopdata', stimulating developers to do more with open procurement data.
