Our speakers are Sako Arts, CTO and Co-Founder at FruitPunch AI, and Rudolf van der Heide, Senior data engineer and team leader at Rainforest Alliance.

Talk #1: AI for Seals: How our AI for Good Challenge Helped Solve a Real-life Problem
In this presentation, Sako will explain how FruitPunch AI as a global community enables data professionals from all over the world to come together and directly apply different state-of-the-art AI technologies to solve real-world challenges with AI. He will do this by providing a tech deep-dive into the cutest challenge yet, AI for Seals, delving into how a team of 50 AI engineers built in 10 weeks an application that not only recognizes seals in pictures, but also identifies them individually to track their population over a long time period. Let's apply some AI for Good together!
Talk #2: Better Sustainability Data Sharing with Row-Level Security and Data Vault
Faced with the challenge of managing supply chain data that is scattered across multiple systems, and the need to share it externally, we introduced a solution that ensures security and efficiency. We will deep dive into the technical and organizational challenges that we faced, as well as how we arrived at an unexpected final solution.
About the speakers:
- Sako Arts is the CTO and Founder of FruitPunch AI, the global AI for Good community. As an AI specialist himself, he experienced firsthand that classical education does not prepare you to apply AI in the real world. Therefore, he founded FruitPunch AI to crowd-source engineers worldwide to apply AI for sustainable causes while enabling them to learn with challenge-based learning. The desired outcome of this is reaching the Sustainable Development Goals while educating engineers about state-of-the-art AI. Let’s do some AI for Good together!
- Rudolf van der Heide: As a seasoned data warehouse expert, my expertise spans a wide range of areas, including analysis, design, development, data analysis, and performance tuning. My diverse background also includes roles in quality management, compliance, and security. Currently, I serve as a data engineer and team leader for the data engineering team at Rainforest Alliance. This role allows me to merge my professional skills with my passion for utilizing data to drive social change.
